As the sun greeted the day, I confronted it with my smile. The glassy doors and windows were opening and closing as like I was dreaming. I wanted to wake up until I recognized I’m facing reality, I wasn’t dreaming. I call in the house but I was calling myself with no one inside. I felt like there was something in the lavatory in the silenced house.
I went there slowly without any foot-steps. With nothing on my feets. I was like in the horror-movie. I could hear my heart’s pump. Loud like a drum, An African drum. In my hand I was holding my grand-pa’s cricket bat, holding it upwards to my back, passing by my ear. I opened the door slow. I felt like I’m opening my heart. There was nothing, absolutely nothing. My heart went to its original place. It was hiding at the back of backbone.
Mistakenly I hit the door with the bat. I jumped running inside without the bat., only to find out that I hit the door. That was time to bath myself and kill the silent horror-house.
As I opened the front door, the sun kissed me on my forehead and I felt the morning-breeze. Birds couldn’t resist glorifying me with their melodies. The smile kept growing on my face. Eyes dazzled with soothe-sun. A well-built echo knocked my heart. That was a horn. When I throw my eyes, how can I not recognize my Benz-head shaped friend? Shouting at me, ye man come over here yo neck-cramp. I smiled back and take I step forward. As I closer get. I saw her. Not from distant, and cleaved to my gasp. Ears rise higher than the head. Wordless I stand.
She was smiling at me, I couldn’t resist smiling back. I could hear my blood running in my veins. I could hear my stop palpitating, started to speak, ‘today it does gonna be my big hell of a day’. As I was too much concentrating on her, she started to concentrate on me back.
Sopranic voice got me off earth with this words, ‘can we go for a ride?’ how can I resist? How could I? Beside it was a fancy car, yet she was fancy than it twice. She was like reading what I want, even though I don’t know were she got that from. I didn’t force myself in the car, even though I can’t tell how I got in there.
My friends were drinking. Every time I see alcohol I remember what my mother said of it. I couldn’t even have a taste. Anyway I thought that was a wise thing to do. She was not drinking.
It was February the 28th, the first day I counted my first breath. I can still remember back then, it was my 18th birthday. I looked at her for a longer time without looking at anything else. She looked at me too and smiled. My two friends Tebogo and Aubrey laughing and talking, I couldn’t even hear them. I concluded she was God sent for my birthday. Oh my friend’s gift to me, I don’t know. I kept asking myself where they got her from. Anyway that was never answer as it was never asked to anyone.
There we got to her house. She seemed not blood related. The house was too big and magnificence. It was white in color, my favorite color. The blooms so attractive from distant, with my favorite colors too, red green, blue and white.
I don’t know if my friends were able too see where they were going or they were just enjoying the ride. I felt suspicious, more specially with the fact to my eyes that she seemed not blood related. Yet that was at the back of my mind. It was my day, ya my day.
She was using the electronic gate, and the garage. She packed it in the garage and we went off the car. She made a dreadfully bizarre call as I concluded It., using other language like a chainies. And still after that she came back and laugh with us. I then again throw that to the back of my mind, as it was my day. We get inside; still I was impressed by the savor smell from the house. We sit at the waiting room, yet like that of a surgery.
My friends were drank. It was me and her sober. I asked to go for toilet. There was this special feeling of the urine burning me. With a soft voice that is not against anything, she directed me to the toilet. The music was too loud. I don’t know which systems she was using. It was a house party.
On the way I’d look at the framed pictures. Her while she was still young. I was starting to be conscious that her parent’s pictures were not there. I didn’t know how to conclude it. I toke that as it will be my approach to her. The toilet marvelously cleaned. The aroma so savories nice, it looks like it wasn’t being used ever since. Luckily that was only to pee.
On way back, I planned how I’ll approach her. I’ll start by complementing garden, and again to the nice savor. Secondly, I’ll apply the beauty of the house and why nun of her parents pictures in the house.
This is the day I hated to go to toilet. Perhaps if I didn’t go, would have being just a normal day to me, for us. When I come back, it was so voiceless, so not blood-sensitive. The music was too earsplitting. So with that I stopped wandering. I was happy I managed to get the way in which I’ll get in to her. She told me her name. I forget it just after it was said.
I get in the waiting room. My eyes thaw, my heart stumble, my two best friends swimming in the full-pool of blood. So motionless they were. My ears then rise higher than my head. I could hear ghost air brushing my hair. Aubrey’s hand was cut-off, and left on Tebogo’s mouth, Tebogo’s leg inside Aubrey’s mouth. It’s like its funny, but if they were alive.
I felt to run in my heart. But my friends are down. I decided to follow my heart and runaway. I felt devil spirit at my back. I turned to look back. My heart so burning like somebody is ironing it.
When I look at her, she was a devil to my eye-ball. I felt to break her into unidentified pieces. Maybe she’ll know exactly my identity. That was before I saw what she had in her hand. She was holding a big knife, relating to a sort family. Rambo’s I guess. I then turned myself to be brave to face her. Still that was before I saw what she had on the other hand.
Silently in the house with earsplitting house-music, I heard my tear drop hitting the ground. My brains so solidified. I could feel my heart palpitating fast and slowly at the same time. My hands were absent, I couldn’t feel them.
A wicked voice said unto me, ‘I am sorry’. I could see nailed fingers preparing to trigger. Not to lie I peed myself on my birthday, my death-day. Sweating like I am running. I opened my mouth with the thought that I could say a word. Anyway don’t know what to say.
She then asked me to take those pieces with my nude hands and put then in the black Sack. I was crying to extent that tears were just raining. Without any choice I had to obey what she commands. I was shaking, than a man left at ice-land so nude. I was shaking even though I was sweating. I was straight from peeing but I can tell I urinated myself again. I had to hold the hand of my friend to the sack. I had to remove the leg of the mouth. My hands so wet with blood, innocent blood. I couldn’t do it. She then put her knife by the face of my ear. I could feel it; it was cold, shocking my ear. Down was a mixture of blood and my tears. My scream couldn’t go above the decibels of the music.
With the coldness of the knife, by seconds I was done. She led me to the bathroom, to clean up my hands. My mind so lazy to thought maybe she’ll let I go. She smoothly asked me to carry the back to her car, which from my eyes was no longer fancy. I was no longer screaming, all of my voice gone, died. The sack was heavy but not to me, I felt it not.
The sack was in the car now. Still with sweet voice she turned to me and asked, ‘get in the car’. That was something I’d not try to disobey. Sweat and tears all combined to form my wet cloths. She took other black sack and folded my head. I couldn’t see were I was going. All I could see was the greatest of the heavens as I was opening the gates for myself. I wanted to see if she was still smiling at me. I wanted to see if she does look evil again. I wanted to see her, face to face. I wanted to see where she was leading me to. It was a two hours ride. My eyes folded. Yet the sack was wet with my tears. The car sit was wet with my sweat. I mistook the day to be my birthday while it was my death-day.
The car stopped after two hours and tens minutes. She roughly removed the sack off my head. The sun was too light and dazzled my eyes. I couldn’t see probable. I had the . . . .. hitting me on the chest. She required me to dig. I was confused and I get back when she gets back her knife.
I dig. Dig. Dig. I was tired to continue. She again softly asked me to go get that sack and put it in. oh thanks God, I said. I thought I was digging it for myself. I put the sack inside. And close up the whole. When I’m done she was at her car, having her lunch.
She comes out with her gun this time. I was scared. She pointed at me and said, I count until five, when I’m done I don’t want to see you. My ears were higher than my head. I don’t know the forest. I don’t know where north or east is. She started counting with that sexy tone, which grabbed me from the morning while she asked me for a ride. One…two... I was still standing there, paralyzed. I didn’t know which way to take. Three…four… Seconds of my life, my birthday was over. Her face was bursting with evil-anger. She was evil than devil himself. I could see her fingers to the trigger. She quickly closed one-eye….and before she says five…before she can shot….. My mother waked me up.
